Have you ever wondered about the old headstones in a cemetery? From urns to columns, to tree stumps and more, each carving is a symbol meant to tell the story of the life of the individual buried beneath. Trava Olivier, Museum Educator for the Pipestone County Historical Society, will guide participants through the Ruthton Cemetery while stopping at various graves to share the meaning of the symbols on the stones featured. Participants should meet at the cemetery. If you have further questions, you may call the Museum at (507) 825-2563 or email them at pipctymu@iw.net.
