Historic Pipestone Inc. (HPI) holds their monthly used book sale fundraiser on the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 am - approximately Noon. The sale features books in both hardcover and paperback, ranging over a variety of subjects in both fiction and nonfiction. All such books are donated by members of the community.

Disney's Aladdin is a beloved, popular story; when the street urchin, Aladdin, vies for the attention of the beautiful princess, Jasmine, he uses a genie's magic power to become a prince in order to marry her. Iago, Jafar, the Genie, and more are here in Disney?s Aladdin KIDS, a musical adventure filled with magic, mayhem and the power of love.
?Public performances of Aladdin will take place at the Pipestone Performing Arts Center on Sunday, August 3rd. There will be a matinee performance at 2:00 p.m., and an afternoon performance at 5:00 p.m. Each performance is approximately a half hour in length.

The entire community is invited to the 8th Annual Kids Fishing Derby & Community Meal on Wednesday, August 13th at beautiful Hiawatha Pageant Park (rain date: Thurs, 8/14 - same times). All ages are welcome to the Community Burger/Hot Dog Feed (while they last!) and Water Slides. Kids ages 15 and under can dip their lines in the ol' quarry pond while competing for trophies and prizes given for first fish caught and more. Fishers are welcome to use their own worms, but we will be providing worms.
